OMG my test is on Monday and I only have 120 pages to go.

It's looking pretty good.

I need to go over horizontal cuts of brainstem and basal nuclei also.

And I have to learn the brainstem song!!!

Baby, school, and hubby make it hard to find time for me.
So I'm multitasking.

I'm semi-enjoying some music while I study.
It helps me concentrate and tune out baby while she is on Will's care.

I choose songs with similar beats so I can remember the material better during the test.
I have to tune out Mia because I just want to hug her all the time. She is so cute.

My FIL is supposedly visiting in March.
I told Will if he could get out of it it would be great.
The stress of a guest is not needed at this moment.
He will have plenty of time with baby during the summer.

I made a video of Mia but I have trouble uploading in my space.

WoW new expansion rules I played like 4 hrs total.

Yes, I got to go home for the holidays.
Thanks to my credit card company for raising my credit limit with a lower %.
My MIL gave us some money when she visit and
she thinks that's what we used for the plane tickets.
She is all mad and jealous.
She is hurt that we aren't visiting her for Xmas this year.
Why in the world would I go after what she did when she visit us.
No way. Even Will didn't feel like dealing with the stress of visiting her.
He was the one that wanted to visit my parents in the first place.
Nice safe environment with tons of food, family, relaxation, and overall good time.
Yesterday I find out my FIL wants to visit in January.
I'm sick of those people they are walking talking stressors.
Anyway, I did fairly well on my finals.
I need to establish a better routine with the baby and studying.
I am happy nonetheless cause I am having a great time here in Florida.

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

Last Saturday I gave change to a homeless guy (19 points). In May I got in line at the supermarket at the same time as someone else and I didn't yield (-8 points). In November I donated bone marrow to [info]cassandramorgan in a life-saving procedure (300 points). Last month I put money in [info]kimberinthecity's expired parking meter (14 points). In January I ruled Duluth, Minnesota as a kind and benevolent dictator (700 points).

Overall, I've been nice (1025 points). For Christmas I deserve a shiny red ball!

Sincerely,
sarai_a

Today my parents left at 5:30 AM.
I didn't set my alarm because Mia would wake up at 4 AM everyday for a feeding.
Today was the one day she didn't. My mom woke me up 5 minutes before leaving.

Seems like time flew so fast. Now my FIL gets in today and my MIL supposedly tomorrow
(apparently they aren't in speaking terms so she changed her flight).
She also changed the time she is leaving to her convenience.

She is coming to help out but I don't see how she can be of any help.
When I stayed at her house once the house was the messiest place I've ever seen
she was sleeping most of the time, and she cooked only once.

Anyway I am relaxed. No need to waste energy stressing over it.

I dolled up Mia to meet her Grandpa Pompey. She is sooo cute!!!

Hooray for Parents!!

This is the last week my Mother is staying with us.
I'll miss her a lot.
Last Friday my Dad got here. I missed him too but more importantly his cooking (yum).
They both leave on the 11th.

That same day my in-laws arrive.

Oh, THE FUN!! (sarcasm)

They are not bad people they are just so weird.
I repeat myself that "it's just one week".

Will's mother is probably staying with us,
subject to her not smoking anywhere near the apartment.

Will's dad is staying at a hotel.

Mia is filling her cheeks she looks so cute!!

Lunch is ready. Love having the parents cook for us.

Break is over

The Doctor gave me a health certificate to return to school by Monday.

"Too Soon!!!" (I sound like the Molten Core dude)

I anticipated such an occurrence.
I previously talk to all my class instructors to let me just go to school for quizzes, group discussions, and tests for the rest of the semester

and they all agreed.

I also live close to school which makes it easy to go home and feed and check the baby.

Is not that I don't trust Will. I'm just obsessed with my kid. Love her tons!!!

Today we went to the WIC appointment and she is 20 in, 6 lb 12 oz.

She is growing fast but in Will's arms she looks so tiny. So cute.

Wednesday night, October 18th around 8:30 pm contractions started right out the bat 2 minutes in between. Stormy night like those in good stories.

We headed to the hospital. Earlier that day we went to the Doctor and he said I was 1 cm dilated and proceeded to strip membranes (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=1213265&dopt=Abstract).

He said he expected me to give birth at the beginning of next week. The poor guy had to get to the hospital around 1 am to deliver Mia to this world.
Less than 6 hours of contractions, no anesthesia, once I was fully dilated it took less than 5 minutes for the baby to pop out.

Beautiful baby girl at 2:15 am October 19th, 5 lb 14 oz, 19 in, tons of hair.

My friends Urszula and Barbara where in the waiting room throughout the whole thing. When I was done they put me in a recuperation room for 2 hours where I went over my experience with Urszula and Barbara after we told the nurse they were Will's sisters.

I am still getting used to the mommy life, accommodating study time, the recuperation process, and Doctors visits.

Special thanks to my friends Ivan, Monique, and Maria for hooking my sister up with Mia's pictures and the beautiful orchids.

Tomorrow (Monday) is my last midterm. So far I have gotten good grades.

I'm soooo fatigue and my back feels like is going to break.
I know it sounds like typical pregnancy bitchery but I'm sick of it already.

I hope that the next doctor appointment I have is the last one.
I wouldn't mind being induced on the 18th.

We have almost everything we need for Mia's room.
I contacted the La Leche League in case I need breastfeeding troubleshooting support.
I read 3 different books on baby care.
I just need for her to pop out of me any day after tomorrow is fine by me.

As soon as the in-laws give us the new crib I will take a picture of Mia's room (so cute).

My test tomorrow is on psychiatry related crap so here's a little synopsis

35 and 1/2 weeks and counting

Week 35 means baby's lungs are making surfactant.

By the way, fake contraction suck during a midterm.

So my weight gain stuck in 148 lb for the past 2 weeks.

I eat what I'm suppose to but I can't weight to finish the pregnancy
so I can relax about having to eat every so often, heartburn, back pain,
joint pain, and excess gas. Not going to miss those!

I was thinking of getting a jogging stroller to loose the weight after
but someone told me they don't corner well. A forum I was reading suggested
walking with the baby in front carrier. I got one of those at the baby shower
so I figure I can do that. Loose weight and bond with Mia at the same time.

Will keeps saying he wants the baby out already.

I wonder if he'll change his mind a day she won't stop crying.

My cousin gave us a crib and we were trying to put it together and
the screws were not the correct one, after we got different ones
the thing is so wobbly... it seems like a baby's deathtrap.
So we took it apart. We are going to get a new one.
It was funny and disappointing at the same time.

This week was the last before my midterms.

I've been very busy studying getting necessaries for baby room and being pregnant all together.

So here is an update on what's new. Last Tuesday my friends from school threw us a baby shower.

It was a lot of fun.
Tons of guys showed and even participated of the games.
They call Mia the class baby.
I think is sweet.
We got lots of gifts and gift certificates.

The food was amazing.
There were 2 great dips:
One had fresh avocado, tomatoes, and a bit vinegar,
another was a mango-tomato blend with other stuff that I couldn't make out what it was.
Both were very delicious.
There were all sorts of stuff that are fattening and full of sugar and sodium.
I dig right in those cause I've taken care of myself so far.

Yesterday I went to the doctor and he said the baby is in position, around 5 lb, and see you in three weeks.

I guess that means that since my lab work and blood pressure are picture perfect so far everything is fine.
The nutritionist was a no show once again but I got my milk money anyway.

That's about it!

Week 33/40 but really of 38

The Doc approximates I'll give birth 2 weeks before the EBD.

Technically I have 5 weeks to go. That seems so close.

I feel like I have nothing prepared even though I do.

My midterms (Block as they call it here) are in 2 weeks.

Two week worth of midterm then I'll get the last prep ready for
the baby coming out.

One thing I dread is in-laws are visiting in november... not looking forward to that.

A few minutes to tell the latest

Seems lately a lot of people are turning a new page in their lives.

Years ago I wouldn't understand why but now I completely do,
which makes me realize this is the adult version of me.
I can't help relate adulthood with aging and getting old.
It is better than being ignorant
but in an ideal world I would rather be young and wise at the same time.

I admire people that dare to change their lives like that.
We are not define by our jobs, situations, or addresses.
We are define by who we are and we have the power to change that at any damn moment we choose to.

Apart from that, I got the baby crib from my cousin Yanisse today.
It's antique looking in dark wood. It doesn't go with anything in the baby room.
I am tempted to paint it. I also need to call the landlady cause last friday there was a tropical storm
and some water got in the baby room. We can't have that, especially with mosquito waiting to spawn in it (AR).
I found a pediatrician for Mia after several interviews. This week Will and I start the labor classes.
I also have a Doctor's appointment on Wednesday morning.

I have to find time to study in between all that and classes.

I'll be really busy this week.

Alternate Loans

This year I originally wasn't going to take any alternate loans (loans outside Stafford that is).
Since baby is coming I have to.

At first they didn't approve it.

I was really worried cause we need it. When I call to ask why
they said it was because of an address issue and my car loan.
I wasn't aware that the bank that has my car loan was receiving the payments late
but they didn't tell me. I call the bank.

Turns out they did get there on time but
they had problems with the processing department.
They late notices were sent to the old address.
I fixed all that over the phone.

Then I sent a fax to the Alt Loan people with a letter explaining the situation and asking them to reconsider.

A week later the thing is approved and I got my money!

I can't really complain.
Thanks to this whole thing I got to know that my credit was affected
by a situation I had no idea was happening
and my credit was fixed and it looks a little better.

"No hay mal que por bien no venga"

My back hurts a lot. Especially when I lift my right leg.

Swollen and fatigue

Posted on 2006.08.16 at 16:18
Quick post.

Every time I exercise in the morning I look great all day.

If I don't exercise I get all swollen and fatigue looking. Really nasty

I don't get it.

In other news the Dean of Academic Affairs in my school sucks.
I just wanted to get it out of my system.

Back to studying...
